Cowon’s iAudio 5 (the black 1GB model was tested and several other memory/color configurations are available as well) fits nicely in the palm of your hand, measuring 3.02” x 1.37” x 0.7”. It is extremely light, coming in at just over an ounce with the AAA battery inserted. The overall feel of the stylish, rectangular design is solid, generating the feeling that the iAudio 5 could take a short fall and come out with no problems.
Operating the Cowon iAudio 5 is nice and easy too with a 3 way rocker switch on the top edge of the unit which controls playback and there is also the important mode button which decides what the unit is doing, on the lower side there is another rocker switch, this one controls the menu system. This was my first time with a Cowon product and it felt well built in general with good use of materials and of course that stunning screen, while pushing the rocker switch I did notice that if you push it in when at an angle it felt a bit rough like is wasn’t meant to be pushed in unless straight on.
